I’ve struggled with my weight and body image for as long as I can remember. It’s only been in the past two years that I made a change and I’m in the best shape of my life.
I’ve lost 50 pounds in the last 2 years and it feels amazing.
How did I get to where I am today? My boyfriend had a huge influence on that. He’s in very good shape and that motivated me to get into shape. I started doing a lot of cardio and watching what I was eating. I lost about 20 pounds but then it stopped coming off.
My boyfriend told me that I needed to start lifting weights in order to really see a difference. I was very skeptical, my argument was that I didn’t want gross muscles and I didn’t want to look like “She Hulk.”
He convinced me to try and I ended up falling in love.
The progress picture to the right was me just lifting weights 40 minutes to an hour a day, minimal cardio, and not that strict of a diet.
Adding muscle mass greatly improves your physical appearance as shown.
I always wanted to be a skinny girl, and when I started on my fitness journey that was the main motivation. But as I’ve lost the weight and started lifting, my motivation changed. Now it’s about how strong can I be, it’s a very empowering feeling.
My goal is to help motivate people and help them get in the best shape of their lives!
